Somos tierra que anda - Opening Night

The Opening night for the exhibit “Somos tierra que anda- We are Earth that Walks” at the Eastside Cultural Center was a great success with people contemplating and discussing images of the migrants’ journey. In a iconic cultural space, I addressed the theme of the show, and visitors viewed the paintings. We felt very lucky to a surrounded by longtime community leaders, activists, muralists, and poets for a wonderful night of art and poetry.

We were extremely honored to have pillars of the Bay Area art community Emory Douglas, the Minister of Culture of the Black Panther Party, as well as Bobby Seale, co-founder of the Black Panther Party, who visited the exhibit, as well as master muralist Miranda Bergman, and poet Arnoldo Garcia, just to name a few.

Special thanks to Art Sato & Greg Morozumi for making this wonderful event possible!
