My feature on Univision "El Pintor de las Patronas" has been recognized by the Society of Professional Journalists, Northern California Chapter with the 2017 Excellence in Journalism Award in the ARTS & CULTURE category (TV/video).   This award honors outstanding reporting that embodies the Society of Professional Journalist’s ideals of initiative, integrity, talent and compassion.  Congratulations Beatriz Ferrari (reporter) and Eduardo Mancera (editor) of KDTV Univision 14 on such amazing work!  This is the third award this feature has received this year including a Northern California Emmy (June 2017) and the NAM California Ethnic Media Award for Outstanding Coverage of Arts, Culture & Entertainment (Sep 2017).

I had a wonderful time last weekend painting live @ Poetry in Parks 2017 at Candlestick Point. I felt so inspired by the poetry, music and scenery that I was able to create two paintings. Poetry in the Parks is an amazing event hosted by Quiet Lightning in partnership with ArtSpan, SOMArts Cultural Center, the San Francisco Arts Commission, and California State Parks.

ArtSpan Live Painters

On October 13th I am painting a mural in Reno for the Reno Mural Expo with lead artist Joshua Coffy.  This is the mural design. I'm extremely honored to be working again with him on such a cool project . Check out Joshua's wonderful @ https://undersong.com/

I will be on the radio today @ noon in a live interview about my latest painting series now on display @ the Community Media Center of Marin (12-1 pm, 102.3 FM) and worldwide @radio.dominican.edu) The #radioshow is called Take Back hosted by Barbara McVeigh (Dominican University of California)
